British and Irish beef and pork

We’re proud to support British and Irish farmers, and use only British and Irish beef and pork in our recipes. We don’t use any mechanically recovered meat.


We encourage all our suppliers to be members of Sedex. Sedex (the Supplier Ethical Data Exchange), is a not-for-profit membership group who’re dedicated to making supply chains more responsible and ethical. Find out more about Sedex here.


We buy all cocoa and cocoa based ingredients through recognised sustainability programmes to use in our recipes.

Wonky Veg & Reducing Food Waste

Vegetables come in a whole host of different shapes and sizes, and we think they’re lovely just the way they are. To help reduce food waste, we use wonky parsnips, carrots and swedes to make our delicious veg range. As long as they’re fresh and tasty, they’re good enough for us.

When it comes to our tasty potato range, we don’t waste a thing. We use 100% of the potato and use the peel for animal feed.


We’re really pleased to say that we don’t use any eggs from hens that live in cages. To make sure we have enough eggs to keep this promise, we buy from carefully selected flocks. We also have the Good Egg award under our belt, which we’re really proud about. The Good Egg Award celebrates companies that use only cage-free eggs (or egg products) in their supply chain. To date, more than 40 million laying hens are set to benefit each year because of these policies. You can read lots more about the Good Egg Award here.

To make sure our hens are as happy as can be, we go and visit them on their farms when we can. We do a really comprehensive audit of the farms to make sure the chickens are well fed and are generally being well looked after.

Our Packaging

By 2025, 100% of our packaging will be made from recycled materials and/or be recyclable/compostable in the home. We’re making good progress with this, and have an interim target of 25% by 2020.

We’re proud to say that all the plastic film we use for our potato and vegetable products is recyclable; you can do so at most big supermarkets, along with carrier bags.

When it comes to our Yorkshire puds, the film we use isn’t recyclable at the moment, but we want to change that. On our most popular product (12 Golden Yorkshires), we’ve done lots of work to make the bags smaller so they use less plastic.

Where we use cardboard packaging for our food, we only use sustainably-sourced board from factories that are approved by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) or by the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).

Our trucks

Once we’ve made our tasty products, we use Eurofleet 7 trucks to transport them to various depots and supermarkets across the UK. What makes Eurofleet 7 so special is that they use the most efficient engines that emit the lowest possible carbon emissions.

Carbon Neutral Office

We’re in the process of building a brand new office at our HQ in Yorkshire. We’re proud to say that the new office will be completely powered by solar panels, meaning all the electricity that we need to run the office will come from a renewable energy source.

Palm Oil

We don’t use palm oil in all of our food but, where we still need to, we’re proud to say that we use 100% certified, sustainable palm oil. In 2011, we became members of The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil. RSPO’s vision is to transform markets to make sustainable palm oil the norm. You can find out more about the RSPO here.

Our Ingredients

It’s really important to us that people love the food we make. As such, we make sure that our tasty products are made using great quality ingredients, and are as close to homemade as possible. We don’t use artificial colours or flavours, and we never put MSG into the food we make.
