Getting ready for Easter

I enjoy Easter almost more than Christmas, as it’s an excuse to get all the family together for a huge meal and to decorate the house a little - but without all the Christmas build up and pressure.

Eggs can be a tricky ingredient to get younger children to like and try. My kids’ favourite when they were young was eggy bread, which has a fantastic, uncurdled texture. Simply beat a couple of eggs with a splash of milk. Heat a non-stick pan with a little olive oil and butter. Dip your sliced bread in the egg mixture and pan fry for a couple of minutes until golden brown. Serve with baked beans or drizzle with honey or chocolate sauce for a special treat.

Over at Netmums we’ve been busy leading a revolution. No we’re not planning on overthrowing the government, but we are hoping to shift the focus of both the media and ordinary mums from being ‘perfect’ to being ‘real’.
