Sponge Cake Mix

This mix makes the perfect Victoria sponge every time. An ideal base for a traditional Victoria sponge cake, cup cakes or buns.

Why not try a Victoria sponge cake filled with fresh whipped cream and strawberries.

Just Add...
200ml cold water
25g melted butter

Before you start...
Empty the contents of the sachet into a large bowl, add the water and melted butter. Using an electric whisk, mix on medium for 1 minute until smooth.

Recipe 1 – Sandwich Cakes
1. Pre heat oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas mark 4. (For fan assisted ovens please adjust the temperature accordingly}.
2. Grease and line 2 x 15-18cm (6-7 inch) sandwich tins
3. Divide the mixture equally into the prepared tins
4. Bake for approximately 20 minutes or until golden
5. Leave to cool completely before decorating

Recipe 2 – Cupcakes
1. Pre heat oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas mark 4. (For fan assisted ovens please adjust the temperature accordingly}.
2. Place 12 cupcakes into a cupcake tin
3. Divide the mixture equally into the cases
4. Bake for approximately 15 minutes or until golden
5. Leave to cool completely before decorating
